Update: I got laid off, the worst choice. Since I have only been here for 3 months, I don't get extra severance besides the two months pay according to the California law. I am going to stay home for a while until the baby is born. Thank you all for

很少发文，也不知道怎么发包子。但如果我有包子，我一定发出去，直到发完为止。
我在南加州一家大pharma，今天老板问我愿不愿意调到纽约去，我说不大可能，大着肚
子怎么搬。然后他说具体他不知道，但明天senior vp 应该会给出几个option之一：去
纽约，或被裁，或留在南加州做tech support。但我们组其他几个senior scientist都
是没孩子没房的又是家里的唯一收入，应该都愿意调到纽约，毕竟pharma在东部的工作
机会更多。想想可能我最终的结果很可能就是被裁，因为tech support要phd的可能性
不大。
话说3个月前，刚从中西部一家公司跳到这里，就是为了结束和老公的两地分居。上班
第二个星期就确定怀孕了，当时那个幸福啊。想想自己毕业3年换了3家公司，没一家呆
够4个月，都是被裁或即将被裁，什么辛酸都经历过了。怀了宝宝以后，幸福感总是一
阵阵袭来，觉得以前吃多少苦都是值得的，终于苦尽甘来了。没想到，办公室的凳子还
没坐热，所有的project全被收走了，从此我就每天上班无事可干，坐等下班，也坐等
被裁的那一天。终于要来了，明天。
一直希望怀的是女孩，而我老公想要男孩，所以我们都很期待明天的b超，其实无论是
什么我们都会喜欢的，宝宝一切健康比什么都重要。没想到今天我却不能把全部的心情
都给宝宝。很努力的想忘记工作的事，留给宝宝一个快乐的心情，可是心里还是难以抹
去的郁闷。
都说这里的blessing很灵，也羡慕那些说宝宝带着口粮来的妈妈们。大家也bless一下
我这个准妈妈吧。希望宝宝一切健康，希望妈妈工作顺利，也希望妈妈的情绪不要影响
到宝宝的健康。另外，大家能告诉我怎么看包子发包子吗？

laid off by my first company in San Diego, everybody at work was trying to
make a joke of the situation but most people were actually sad about what's
coming to them. It's like Daje Vu. The difference is that I was fresh out of
school, holding H1B visa, and I was single. Now I am married to a loving
husband, having a baby in my belly, with green card and three years of
experience. Thinking about it, my life was actually going up in the past
three years, isn't it?
Thank you all for your blessings, it means a lot to me. I also want to
express my appreciation to my husband here, although he doesn't come to
mitbbs. This morning before I left home, he said to me: don't worry. No
matter what happens, as long as we are together, we can conquer any
difficulty in our life. And I truly believe him.

我和mm有类似的经历。孕28周收到layoff通知，36周正式离开公司。2个月的notice。
老板还不错，最后的2个月就让我在家休息了。 被laidoff的感觉的确
不好，可是好在自己正在孕期，有很好的理由在家休息，而且有很支持我的老公，还有
这儿jms的安慰，所以难过了几天就开心起来了。现在宝宝已经5个多月来，打算宝宝1
岁后再找工作，因为每天看着他长大真的是很幸福的事，尽管也很累：=）
提醒mm的是，可以申请family leave,起码比失业金多一些。
