http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shooting_of_Timothy_Stansbury
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BART_Police_shooting_of_Oscar_Gran
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_of_Eric_Garner

. and they only face a binary decision, whether there is a case to be made,
unlike the actual trial, they are not saying liang is guilty, they just
saying he maybe and so he need to stand on trial.
I think liang just got into this in a terrible timing. after wat happen in
ferguson and watever happen to that cigarette selling guy. those on the
grand jury just like us, were all reminded of how bad police brutality can
go...
if I were on the grand jury that day and if it was any officer other than a
Chinese, I probably would've vote for a move to get the case on trial too,
simply cuz I don't know if his guilty or not. just like them officer who
choke te cigarette selling guy to death, I think he shld at least be put on
trial, guilty or not requires a lot more detail and argument .
the prosecutor all press charge against the officers in all them case u
mentioned. so gov't standing in these case were equal. although u may argue
that prosecutors may be soft or hard because of race, but u cannot prove
that. after all, the ultimate decision lies in dozens of ordinary citizen
who will simply made their decision quite randomly | h*********n

conduct felony, only multiple arrest for misdemeanor. the media felt bad for
the guy who die selling cigarette and was criticizing police abuse, and new
yorker at their dinner table seeing this poor guy die selling cig probably
start to say, hell no that aint right. and then next day they got call to
determine a case, not guilty or not, just a fair trial. it's normal they
vote for a go ahead.
but race definitely an issue. like i said, if i were on the grnad jury, if
it was a chinese officer, i'd vote for a no trial. if other than my race, i'
d vote for a trial. u can complain, but that's how the system work. the good
thing is the trial jury selection process is going to be more rigorous so
hopefully race play lesser role.
