It Took Six Hours to Sell 50 Percent of the Units at the Sky View Parc
Development
Imagine our surprise to see a press release announcing that The Grand at Sky
View Parc — the second phase of the wildly successful Sky View Parc
development in Flushing — is already 50 percent spoken for. Just this past
summer, partners Muss Development and Onex Real Estate Partners planned to
list the development rights for the unbuilt second phase, and it seemed like
everything was up in the air. Turns out Onex gained full control of the
project and Muss is no longer involved. The developers started
infrastructure work at the site, and the first tower is expected to start
rising this spring. Three total luxury towers will rise over the Shops at
Sky View Center, all part of The Grand at Sky View Parc development. So, uh,
what about those condo sales?
Onex Real Estate Partners held an “exclusive preview event” in which they
released listings for 120 apartments at the first tower, dubbed “Grand One.
” This is where things got crazy — as Michael Dana, President of Onex,
puts it: “The event drew a tremendous response from attendees — many of
whom already own in Sky View Parc — and resulted in our team selling out of
our limited initial release in only six hours.” (In case you needed
reminding, the first phase of Sky View Parc was the number one condo sale
site in New York in 2013 due to an influx of Chinese buyers after the
recession.) Prices on the studio, one- two- and three-bedroom units range
from $489,000 to over $2,000,000. Square footage ranges from 492 to 1,965
square feet.
Apartments include top-of-the-line finishes, state-of-the-art appliances, an
in-suite washer and dryer, floor-to-ceiling windows and balconies. The
building itself will boast “an exclusive amenity provided solely for
residents, known as The Grand Club.” The Grand Club includes a resident’s
lounge, fitness center, full-service spa, and an outdoor space with
meditation gardens, outdoor yoga areas and a pool.
When all is said and done, the three towers of The Grand at Skyview Park
development will bring 800 apartment units to the area. | k*****a
