An intoxicated man stabbed a man and slashed two others on a subway platform
at Grand Central Station in Manhattan early Saturday, the police said.
Ivan DeLeon, 38, of Queens, was arrested on several charges, including
assault and criminal possession of a weapon, the police said. A knife was
recovered at the scene.
The altercation took place around 12:15 a.m. on the platform for the
northbound No. 6 train. Mr. DeLeon was exiting a train as the three men and
a child were entering, the police said, and Mr. DeLeon bumped into the child
, causing the child to fall.
The child’s father confronted Mr. DeLeon, the dispute became physical and
Mr. DeLeon pulled out a knife, the police said. The child was unharmed.
A man stabbed in the stomach and another slashed in the chest were taken to
Bellevue Hospital Center in critical but stable condition, and another man
cut in the arm was taken there in stable condition. Mr. DeLeon was taken
into custody and treated at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital for bruises to his
face and the back of his head, the police said.
It was unclear on Saturday whether Mr. DeLeon had a lawyer. | T********e
