初来乍到，要在mid-town上班，请问住在Astoria还是Forest Hills? Astoria好像到
Manhattan近一些，可好像版上没人提起，那里怎么样？比Forest Hills如何？谁给说

I like Astoria better if you don;t have any kids. Its younger and hipper for
sure. there is a sizable japanese community in Astoria, some good
restaurants too.
Forest Hills is more russian jews and Chinese. The community is much older,
and frnakly, not much fun.
transportation wise, they are pretty much the same to get to Manhattan, but
forest hills has a lot more train lines, while astoria only has N.

Just for FYI, I am rening a 2-bed apt. in Astoria for $1,400. The daily
commute is about 45 mins to mid-town since my apt. is not exactly next to
the subways. But the building quility is much better.

Astoria的地铁都是慢车，而且大部分好点的房子离地铁都很远，所以是好区，最好有
车。那边不是中国人聚居区，所以中餐馆肯定就不太有了，多半得自己烧饭。那边房子

印象中ASTORIA不怎么样啊。以前我学校里，很多东亚，讲阿拉伯语，信伊斯兰教的都
住那噶哒。晚上警车特别多。除了PIZZA店就是PIZZA店。

Astoria 房子新，Forest Hills 只有一两幢楼是在1990年后造的。老房子好处在大，
楼顶高。
