Do Rinpoche
Do Rinpoche Shedrub Pal Yeshe Tenpai Gyeltsen is the sixth incarnation of
Rigsey Sherab Mebar, one of the emanations of Dodrup Kunzang Zhenphen, a
renowned student of the Omniscient Jigme Lingpa. He was born in Washul Mewa,
in lower Kham. Although it was winter, five colored light filled the sky
and immediately after being born the child chanted the Mani mantra with a
smile. His Holiness Sakya Trinzin recognized him as the incarnation of
Thubten Jangchub Gyaltshen, the fifth incarnation of Rigsey Sherab Mebar.
The recognition was further confirmed by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.
As per the aspiration prayers of the first Dodrup Rinpoche, all of the
incarnations of Rigsay Sherab Mebar from the second incarnation up to the
present have strictly observed vegetarianism.
His Holiness 14th Dalai Lama, Dodrup Thubten Thrinley Pelbar Rinpoche,
Khenchen Za Arig Pentse, Khenpo Dazer, Zenkar Rinpoche Thubten Nyima,
Taglung Tsetrul Rinpoche, Khartrul Kunkyen Tenpai Nima, Khar Drakpa, Khar
Sonam Nyima, Khenchen Tsewang Rigzin who attain great rainbow light body,
and Pangang Khenpo Thubten Odzer are among many teachers from whom he
received empowerments and teachings. Rinpoche current resides in the United
States.
