A friend of mine works at the British consulate. Her income is exempt from
both the US (city tax too, but only the first $80K) and the U.K. tax. It is
because America could only tax you the full amount if the income is made in
the US, if the income was made abarod, only after $80K. The British
consulate, is considered foreign. So the US cannot tax it. The UK tax law is
based on where you live. Since my friend lives in Hoboken, USA, the UK tax
authority cannot tax her either.
