如果一个月工作25天,每年12个月,算30%税率,这个人年薪8万多。
然後这些人赚的钱,我们每年要从MTA涨的价格上补回去。

Thieves take swipe at MTA
MetroCard con men set up shop
Tuesday, October 26th 2010, 12:33 PM
THE $2 subway fare isn't just a memory for some Queens straphangers.
Up to six men at a time, known as "swipers," offer riders discounted entry
at the Sutphin Blvd.-Archer Ave.-JFK subway station turnstiles in Jamaica.
The enterprising lawbreakers typically operate from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. during
the weekday rush-hour commute.
"I think it's a really attractive deal," said Shadon White, 19. The swipers
get her "business every now and again" and may get more of it when new
Metropolitan Transit Authority fare hikes take effect in January, she said.
Besides the $2 single ride, a discount of 25 cents, the swipers also offer
unlimited one-day passes for $5, a decrease of 39%, and unlimited weekly
cards for $20, a decrease of 26%, White said.
White doesn't think about where the cards come from. "I'm just happy to buy
them," she said.
But while the illicit business appears to be booming - one swiper bragged
that he made $200 in one morning - some commuters said they've had enough.
"They break the [MetroCard] machines on purpose so that when you go in in
the morning, only one machine works, and they're ready for you to use one of
their MetroCards," said one disgruntled MTA customer who identified herself
only as Erica, 31, of Jamaica.
Feeling harassed and inconvenienced, Erica often takes the Long Island Rail
Road to her job in Manhattan to avoid the early-rising scammers, she said.
Erica has complained to transit police and to her local community board, but
to no avail. "Nobody cares about it at all," she said. While the police do
make sweeps of the station, dispersing and sometimes arresting the swipers,
"they always come back," Erica said. "They're like roaches."
One swiper was overheard saying one morning last week: "Waiting for the
police to jump out of their hiding spots. I don't give a f---. I'm just
trying to get some breakfast money."
An MTA worker at the station confirmed that the swipers sometimes jam the
MetroCard machines so that hurried commuters are compelled to pay $2 for a
swipe rather than wait on long lines to buy their subway passes legitimately.
The same MTA worker said that the swipers appear to acquire most of their
MetroCards from tourists on their way to the JFK AirTrain who they reason
don't need the cards anymore. The Daily News first reported on the practice
in August.
The Sutphin Blvd. station is "designated as a hot spot," an MTA spokeswoman
said.
"Our station agents would report any incidents of illegal swipe activity and
they have done that in the past at that station, and we've also had some
vandalism at that station. The vandalism can be an indicator, but not always
, of swipe-selling," the spokeswoman said.

正卖swipe的人,只能抓住像yahooyahoo或者我们这样热心善良的人。

I never noticed anyone selling daily or weekly pass. Seems very good price,
much better than the monthly pass on MITBBS:NewYork.

lose anything?

| p***y 发帖数: 18037 | 8 Each unlimited swipe is a $2.50 loss to MTA. Each pay-per-ride swipe is at
least a $0.25 loss (usually more due to the bonus factor).
