If you have luggages, just take a cab. I think 8 street-blocks and about 3-4
avenue-blocks will take no more than 5 dollars (including tips). Waiting for
trains in subway is no fun.
However, during rush hours, riding in a cab is not fun either. Even there is
no big jam, the aggressive cab drivers will scare you to death, esp. you drive
yourself.
