Paterson police investigate body found on Route 20

PATERSON — A vehicle apparently pulled up at Route 20 gas station Sunday
afternoon, dropped off a man later found to be dead, and then drove away, a
police spokesman said.
“He was left there,” said Detective Lt. Richard Reyes, of the man, who was
not identified. “We are looking at everything. We are not saying that he
was dead when he was placed there.”
Someone at the Exxon station, near 20th Avenue, called 911 around 3 p.m.,
saying that an individual had been dropped off near the pumps, Reyes said.
When an ambulance arrived, the person was found to be dead. That’s when
police were called to the scene. The medical examiner’s office has not
determined the cause of death.
Reyes would not say whether workers or customers witnessed the incident. |
