发帖数: 152 | 1 Adele’s “21” has been being played in my car for months. Finally, it’s
time to give it a break this morning. So I took it out, and put in “Enigma
”, an old old CD, and also one of my all time favorites.
During the lunch break, I stopped at a gas station in East Hanover for some
gas.
I Rolled down the window, shut off the engine, but left the music on. It’s
playing ‘Mea Culpa’, loudly.
“I know this song!” said the bro at the gas station, a little bit excited,
“it’s Enigma.” He then took out his phone, and put it on my window
molding, trying to look up the song with Shazam.
“Yes, it is!” I am surprised too. Enigma was produced by a Romania born
German at Spain Studio. The first time I heard this song was 20 years ago in
a sea side city back in China.
The customer at the next pump, a 30 something white guy, who drives a pickup
, came over, and said, “Nice music. But I never heard it before”
“it’s a 90s album” I explained.
“it’s from Europe; and it’s in French.” Said the bro, “ You American
know only what’s in this country, and never care about what’s in other
countries.”
The pick-up guy waived his hand with a smile; seemed to say “Shut up.”
We chatted a bit more and parted and went on our own ways; but it Felt good
to run into strangers who like the same music as you do. | S*******x
