EVENT DETAILS:
Dear Friends, This will be our third tennis meeting for 2011, and it will
also mark the beginning of our very own tri-state tennis Championship series
which should continue annually. We encourage everyone to participate,
whether you play tennis or not is not as important, but we will use these
opportunities to promote our friendships, to share athletic tips and to
forge a stronger network to help each other! For this event, you ...can
contribute mainly along the following lines of categories: 1) spectators or
casual participants, 2) beginners tennis lessons and practice, 3)
recreational tennis matches - all levels, 4) competitive tennis tournaments,
USTA ratings mostly 3.0, 3.5 or 4.0, finally 5) coordinators, umpire or
instructors. Please bring forth any ideas to share, and please forward the
message to your friends who may not receive this invitation, our goal is to
get us together on the eve of the US Open and perhaps we can go to see some
matches or meet your idol such as Li Na the following weekend. Due to
Facebook message limitation, further details of the tournament will be added
gradually. So again please do not forget to mark your calendar and we look
forward to seeing your participation!
There will be four groups of round robin competitions:
1) Ladies Doubles (up to USTA combined ratings of 6.0, typically two 2.5-3.0
level players)
2) Mixed Doubles (up to USTA ratings of 7.0, typically two 3.5 level players)
3) Gentlemen's Doubles (up to USTA ratings of 7.0)
4) Gentlemen's Doubles (up to USTA ratings of 8.0)
Depending on the number of players, each group will have anywhere from 3
teams up to 6 teams or more, a team will have 2 players and every team will
compete with every other team in its group. Even if you loss to one team you
can still get a trophy, since this is based on the highest total score and
not by elimination.
Each individual player from the first two teams with the highest round-robin
scores in each group will receive a trophy. So there will be a total of 8
trophies awarded to the first places in each group, and 8 trophies awarded
to the second places in each group, a total of 16 trophies to be given out.
The deadline for the registration should be Aug 18th. |
