higher tax rate than NJ and NJ allows you to claim NY tax as credit, you end up paying most of your income your taxes to NY and very
little to NJ. You would pay tax to NJ on your non-wage incomes (such as
interest, capital gain, rental income, etc) cuz again NJ tax rate is lower than NY so it's
better for you to claim it on NJ return than NY return.
Procedure is to file Federal 1040 first, then file NY IT-203 for non-
