I think Bosa wanted the huge guarantees so he can just relax and be done
with working hard. He made his big money by performing at a high level in
college. Now he's gonna chill out and underperform so that he eventually
becomes a full time backup by year 2 or 3 and won't have to play on game
days. He'll get released after year 3 but will still be given work because
he's a former top 5 pick. He'll float around the league a few more years as
a situational pass rusher and squeeze out every dime he can with the least
effort given on the field to preserve his own body. Then he'll retire and be
set financially. Sure he never put up big numbers, but his health is decent
and he made a ton of money playing a game. Not a bad deal. | u****d
