President Barack Obama, speaking at commencement Sunday in Columbus, was
careful to pronounce “THE Ohio State University.”
Understandable. But he continued: “It is true that I did speak at that
certain university up north a few years ago. But, to be fair, you did let
President Ford speak here once and he played football for Michigan. So
everybody can get some redemption.”
Really? That certain university up north? Is Urban Meyer writing his
speeches?
OK, Obama also spoke at Michigan’s commencement in 2010.
And then he said: “It is great to be here in the Big House. And so may I
say … Go Blue!”
