The schools in the SEC and B1G are very into the football programs.
The schools in the other conference are not crazy about the football.

SEC and Big10 also covered wide geographical area.
Big 12 football is pretty much Texas fooball, almost all players are from
Texas.
Like Pac12, almost all the football players are from California.

football.
that is why Big 10 and SEC do not have troubles.
They just cause other conference troubles.
