Duke basketball coach said he’d prefer to keep Maryland as a heated ACC
rival rather than see the school depart for the Big Ten.
“I would hope they would stay in our league,” he told the the Fayetteville
Observer last night. “Believe me, I’m sure that no one at Maryland is
going to pay attention to anything I say based on the response I get every
time I walk in that arena.”
Coach K described that response as “a resounding two words with an
exclamation point.”
Former Terps basketball coach Gary Williams also expressed a fondness for
the Maryland-Duke rivalry last night, but added that it may be time to leave
the ACC.

是反对离开ACC的。这一点和TAMU等离开big12不一样（那些学校的校友都支持离开
big12）。这事说来说去还得怪大十以及UMD的校长（大十的校友）。

This is from an early 2011 article. Back to late 90's and early 2000, before
MD 2002 national champion, Maryland has even more success against Duke (
which was a time when UNC basketball was really down), and MD-Duke games at
that time period were always among the most highly anticipated and rated
games of the year.

be back this year. Football sucks, but if it were not for those ridiculous
QB injuries, football is doing OK and on the right track this year.
If it is because of Yow, UMD athletic department would not run into current
fiscal situation at all, and probably would not need to go to Big Ten today.
You can talk to any UMD fans, vast majority can tell how happy they are to
see Yow left.

少。
ACC还刚进了一个两个方面都不错的ND，而且连SEC学术最好的Vandy也对ACC有些向往。
UMD投入B1G主要还是圆了校长自己回娘家的梦。
