Today coaches' poll helped propel his team's top rival into the national
championship game.
Chizik voted undefeated LSU at No. 1, followed by Alabama and then Oklahoma
State.
Chizik is one of 59 voters in the coaches' poll, which is an important
component of the BCS standings. The top two teams in the BCS standings meet
in the BCS national championship game.
LSU was a unanimous No. 1 in the final standings unveiled Sunday. Alabama
narrowly beat out Oklahoma State for third place.
Chizik revealed his vote when asked by media Sunday night on a Chick-Fil-A
Bowl teleconference. Virginia coach Mike London, another voter, said he had
the same teams in his top 3.
The individual ballots of each coach in the poll will be released publicly
this week. |
