nother Michigan alum could become a candidate if Rodriguez is let go.
Sources say Louisiana State's Les Miles is "very interested" in the job.
Miles was considered a leading candidate to replace Wolverines coach Lloyd
Carr in 2007 but the university never extended an official offer. Miles is
believed to have a fractured relationship with some influential people at
Michigan but it is unknown whether Brandon, who Wednesday celebrates his
one-year anniversary as athletic director, will be influenced by those
factors in his decision.
"I'm sure [Brandon] has got a plan, but I don't know if that includes Les
Miles or not," LSU athletic director Joe Alleva told the Times-Picayune
Tuesday night.
The Blade has learned a coach whose team appeared in the top 25 of the
most recent Associated Press poll also would be interested if an opening
occurs.
San Diego State's Brady Hoke, a past Michigan assistant, is believed to be
interested in the job. |
