W********s 发帖数: 2256 | 1 UPDATE: Although Bleacher Report wanted to tease everyone Monday with a
headline that led you to believe
Kirby Smart would be the next Florida defensive coordinator, that is far
from the truth.
The Tuscaloosa News is now reporting that Smart in fact is leaning toward
remaining at Alabama. Sources told
the News that new Gators coach Will Muschamp and Smart have been in
discussions over the past few days,
but that no formal offer has been made.
Smart turned down the opportunity to be the Georgia DC in 2009 and accepted
a raise paying him $750,000
per year to continue coaching the Tide. It seems like Smart will stay put
until he can get his own head coaching
gig.
...
TideSports.com, like every other outlet, has Alabama defensive coordinator
Kirby Smart as one of the leading
candidates to join new coach Will Muschamp at Florida.
Bleacher Report writes that two other sources, along with TideSports.com,
have confirmed that Smart is in the
running for the job and BR's headline actually leads one to believe that
Smart leaving the Crimson Tide for the
Gators is already a done deal.
We're not going to speculate on money just yet, but the fact that Smart
makes $750,000 per year at Alabama
after a raise last year has to be an obstacle for the Gators. Yes, Smart has
a strong relationship with
Muschamp, but we can't imagine UF paying Smart much more than what he's
already making in Tuscaloosa. |
