The Wolverines' first real test was Connecticut. We did away with them so
suddenly they're not a good team. Our next real test was Notre Dame, we beat
them so suddenly they're not a good team. The vast majority of us knew the
Indiana game was going to be high-scoring and close. It was, and we won. I'd
call a Big Ten road game a definite given the past 2 seasons.
So now, Michigan State is our first real test? At our house? Their first
true road game? Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying a win is guaranteed or
that Michigan State is a bad team, but really? They're our first test of the
year? I don't think so.
You can talk about how you're the best defense we've played yet Spartan fans
, but that's only because our offense hasn't faced you yet. If Michigan
State holds us under 500 total yards, I'll be quite surprised. Not being
cocky, just stating my true feelings. I think our offense is just much
faster than their defense, I think Michigan will get a lot of big plays. But
can Michigan's defense nut up? We've all talked about it as Wolverine fans,
and I think that's all it comes down to for us: can our defense nut up? And
as much as Spartan fans doubt that they can, they might be in for a rude
awakening tomorrow.
