Thankfully, the Brazuca has been in design and testing for over two years.
Teams like Bayern Munich and AC Milan and top players such as Argentina’s
Lionel Messi and Germanys Bastian Schweinsteiger were involved in the
development of the ball, which must make it the most tested ball of all time
. Some of the key design elements of the new Brazuca ball include:
1. Six polyurethane panels that are bonded to keep the ball the same weight
and shape in all conditions
2. A rougher surface which is covered in little nubs and seams that have
been deepened to help avoid “knuckling” (unreliable flight) and provide
improved touch and accuracy.
3. A latex bladder to provide the desired bounce and rebound.
4. Increased weight (The Brazuca is half an ounce heavier) to enable faster
