deal to finance a new arena that would keep the team in California’s
capital.
Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson, NBA Commissioner David Stern and the Maloof
family, which owns the Kings, announced Monday in Orlando, Fla.,—where they
had been negotiating all weekend during All-Star festivities—that an
agreement had been reached. The City Council is expected to vote on the plan
March 6.
The full financing plan will be made public by Thursday.
The Kings almost moved to Anaheim, Calif., last year before Johnson and city
leaders convinced the league to give Sacramento one last chance to help
finance an arena. Seattle also had been making a renewed push for an NBA

The sooner these losers leave Sacramento, the better off the city will be.
Total insanity to force the public to pay for an unwanted, unneeded stadium
that only a few people and a dozen millionaires will use. And the
billionaire owners will get to keep all the profits. What a scam. All sports
teams should be paid for by the attendees, not the public. It is absolutely
criminal how these teams hold up and rob the public.

Being from Seattle and still having a sour taste from the Sonics being taken
from us, for whose ever fault it may have been, I would not want the Kings
to move to Seattle unless every avenue was explored and their was just no
way they could keep them there. I truly hope they do find a way to keep the
Kings in Sacramento. And I believe the majority of Seattle sports fans feel
the same way. Keep fighting and good luck
