Shares of American Airlines parent AMR will trade over the counter

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) -- American Airlines parent AMR Corp., whose shares
are being removed from the New York Stock Exchange, says the stock will be
available on over-the-counter markets beginning Thursday.
It will trade on the OTCQB market under the ticker symbol "AAMRQ," the
company said.
AMR and its subsidiaries filed for bankruptcy court protection on Nov. 29.
The NYSE removed the shares from trading when the average closing price fell
below $1 for 30 trading days in a row. AMR did not contest the removal.
The shares closed Wednesday at 24 cents, down 4.6 cents. They closed at $1.
62 the day before the bankruptcy filing.
AMR, which also owns the American Eagle regional airline, has said it will
operate normally during bankruptcy. |
