Airdragon 2010”）：
OK, this is what I would recommend for a two-day tour of San
Diego.
Saturday, 7/3:
Head to SeaWorld as you planned; the park opens at 9:00 am.
Check here for show schedule for that day:

Don't miss the Shamu show, while the dolphin show (for some
reason not in the schedule), the sea lion show, and the Cirque
de la Mer may be worthwhile, too.
You may want to spend the whole day in SeaWorld, and there
certainly is enough to see and enjoy, but I would recommend
finishing up the best of the park by three or four in the afternoon
and heading across the Mission Bay for some fun and relaxation
on the water. Powerboating or Kayaking will certainly do the trick.
As I mentioned last time, there is an area on the Mission Bay where
there is no speed limit for powerboat, and nothing beats the
summer heat better than wind and plenty of sea water in your hair
as you fly down the bay at 90+ miles an hour. For motor boat
rental, I always go to Seaforth (the Mission Bay location):

You might want to call ahead to make sure they have a powerboat
available since that weekend is going to be one of the "hottest" of
the year in terms of boat rentals.
If leisurely relaxation in a quieter corner of the bay is more your
style, go for kayaks. The one kayak rental shop I always go to is

After sunset, I recommend going to Old Town Historic Park for
some authentic Mexican food and entertainment:

OK, had enough fun yet at that point? If not, go to the Gas Lamp
Quarters district downtown and check out the dance clubs. Or
you might just want to go to bed a little early to get ready for the
next day's program.
Sunday, 7/4:
Sunday morning would be a good time for Balboa Park, including
the Zoo. On Sundays, the International Village is usually staffed by
volunteers for various activities and performances, and there is
usually an open concert at the Organ Pavilion at 2:00 pm.

After Balboa Park, I'd recommend spending the rest of the afternoon
on the east shore of the San Diego Harbor, specifically the following
spots:

There is also a harbor cruise departing from that area if you feel like
a ride:

Once that is all done, you might just want to stay put and wait for the

It is expected that more than 850,000 people will show up for it, so
you might as well find a good spot early in the evening and hold on
to it.
Monday, 7/5:
Instead of rushing through a few more places in San Diego and then
head north on the freeway, I'd recommend leaving in the morning and
take the more leisurely and definitely more scenic Pacific Coast Highway
(SR-1) to L.A. You'll be able to stop over at some of the tourist spots
along the way (such as Carlsbad, Dana Point/Capistrano Beach, Laguna
Beach, Newport Beach, and Seal Beach), enjoy yourselves a little, and
still make it to the L.A. area in time for a sightly late lunch.
