between China and Russia, and getting Russia to help the West contain the
Chinese. Beijing now has a firmly anti-Western regime on its flank, one so
hostile to the West it is even willing to become China's junior partner. Not
only that but it's a nuclear armed one that is willing to do the dirty work
via armed interventions (e.g, Syria and now the Ukraine), proxies (Russian
mercs - Libya, Mali, etc), or via wetwork. Add the Iranians to the mix and
Beijing has a defacto proxy in the Middle East that is doing lots of dirty
work against US allies and partners. China in the meantime can focus on the
Far East and on increasing its economic, military, and technological power.
Since the violence happening or threat of violence is to the West of China,
we will be forced to pay attention over there, giving China even more time
to get richer and stronger. | d******r 发帖数: 16947 | 3 普金不给大大一个操

给不给操无所谓,但合了中国意坐下来谈就行了,不要苛求太多,平常心即可

pivot to Asia / China:" is dead in the water or crippled. The invasion of
Ukraine changes everything in Europe and no matter how much Washington
dislikes it, we will be dragged back kicking and screaming into a new Cold
War with Russia. First Bush Jr (pushed by Cheney and Rumsfield) was getting
ready to contain China, then 9-11 happened. Later Obama had the same idea
but the 2008 financial crisis happened before he took office and
developments in Iraq and Afghanistan dragged us back. Trump tried it too but
he couldn't let go of the Middle East, the Russian influence question
caused problems, and then Covid hit. I expect China to get another decade or
two of breathing space, to get stronger and richer. |
