hammer blows to the head was a victim of homicide, but the police chief says
the man killed himself and the case is closed.
″We do have a rather bizarre case, but the facts indicate we do have a
suicide,″ police Chief Lawrence Juzwicki said Wednesday. He said police do
not plan to reopen the case.
Dr. Daniel Thomas, Lake County coroner, ruled the April 6 death of James
Cooley, 52, a homicide and requested further investigation. He said today he
will continue to persue the matter. | b****n

Suicide by Hammer Ruled in Man's Bizarre Death
A Williams Township man died as a result of self-inflicted hammer blows to
his head, officials have determined
Michael Muretta struggled for years with mental illness.
His struggle reached a horrific end last August when the 47-year-old
Williams Township man struck himself in the head with a hammer, causing
fatal injuries.
That was the conclusion reached by investigators looking into Muretta's
death, Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli said Thursday.
