Why can Japan and Korea play soccer better than China even tho China has 20x
the population?
China is not widely known to be a football nation. Remind that China, in
spite of their large population, over 1 billion, and historically used to
achieve great results at early 20th century, they were not invited to the
inaugural World Cup and they also had internal conflict, Chinese lost
interests on football and switched into some more individualistic sports,
like badminton or table tennis. Eventually, this weakened football in China.
Only after the tragic Cultural Revolution, China returned to world’s
football, but their development had been hampered by corruption and
ignorance. This explained why China could not play well. Of course, China
qualified to 2002 World Cup, but the old problems came back and so, yeah,
they turned becoming “paper tiger”.
Mixed race or something have nothing to do with football development. Japan
also has mixed race or Brazilian mercenaries in their squad. Yet, they
qualified for every World Cups since 1998 and won 4 Asian Cups while Japan
developed football much later than China, at 1990s. South Korea on the same
time also relies on their home ground players more, which contributes to
their success.

十几年前，同事午餐讨论为什么某厂在中国干不过阿里京东，一红脖脱口而出中国政府

举国体制也尝试了，失败，商业联赛也尝试了，商业上一度很火爆，还是失败。
训练问题，那队员送去欧洲去巴西培养，也尝试了，还是失败。
教练问题，土教练失败了，洋教练还是失败了。
人种问题，归化球员也引进了，还是失败。

很多技巧型和力量型的运动，中国虽然不一定是世界最好，但也经常出
现在决赛圈里。而足球是个例外，根本没资格进入世界级别的比赛，更
别提拿名次了。这说明中国队的水平和足球强国比，不在一个档次上。
技术、体力、训练，只能让中国队在目前的档次上名次有所变动，无法
让中国队提高档次进入强队之列。其原因就在于，中国足球运动员是中
国特定传统文化教育下成长、在中国特定社会制度约束下生活的人，不
适应足球运动。
首先，踢足球需要阴狠。为了争得控球，伤人在所不惜。使绊子、踢踹
、肘击，要毫无思想负担，不带任何精神包袱。在中国人的行为准则里
，对人下那么狠的手得有多大的仇啊！中国传统文化里的“己之不欲，勿
使于人”，“害人之心不可有”，等等，严重约束运动员的场上拼抢。看看
我们平时踢场足球，终场后个个全须全尾，连身上有块青紫的都不多。
我们觉得理所应当，玩儿嘛，至于那么玩儿命吗？如果有人为赢球使阴
的，会被视作异类。说中国人拼抢不行是不对的，战场上拼刺刀中国人
没输给谁。那是因为没有了包袱。
其次，踢足球需要无赖。假摔、装伤痛、拉抱，这些事中国人无法作得
得心应手、心安理得。试想，如果你参加学校一场足球赛，你的家人、
同学在边上观看。当着他们的面，你作得出这些耍赖的事吗？以后还要
不要面对亲朋好友了？
再有就是制度的不同。中国自古追求的就是仁治，注重通过教育培养个
人内在的自我约束，也就是我们说的素质。而西方的自由体制下，则是
通过法律施行外在的管束。足球场上，只要裁判没看到、没判，没什么
不可以，这和西方人日常生活的社会制度是一致的，不需要调节。而习
惯于自我约束的中国人，不仅仅需要躲避裁判的视线，还得克服自我，
这是无时无刻不在的障碍。不是说中国人个个都是君子，但是能够为小
利而伤人的，确实不多。
西方自由法制下的人，敬畏权威。强调素质的中国人，就爱纠缠个理字
。反应在球场上，面对裁判的一个不公平判决，西方人更能坦然面对，
不影响情绪。而喜欢上访的中国人则不依不饶，愤愤不平，弄得下面都
打不好。
足球运动员都是普通民众里出来的。一个国家民情普遍如此，要挑出反
叛传统、不受生活制度和环境影响的人来，是非常不容易的。何况，还
需要被挑选的人具有足球运动员特有的身体、反应等条件，这就更难了
。充其量，花额外的时间精力把运动员培养成阴狠无耻之徒，但是缺乏
大量的候选者，也就是韩国的现状。
所以说，足球运动是西方文化、社会产生的游戏。不仅仅是足球，很多
其它带冲撞性的运动都是如此。中国人要想玩得好，得抛弃传统文化，
改变社会制度。当然，为了足球，做这些改变是否值得是另一个问题。 | D******1
