Sunk on 4 October 1941 in the North Atlantic south-west of Tenerife, Canary
Islands, in position 27.15N, 20.27W, by depth charges and gunfire from the
British anti-submarine trawler HMS Lady Shirley. 8 dead and 44 survivors.
HMS Lady Shirley (Lt.Cdr. Arthur Henry Callaway, DSO, RANVR) was hit by one
torpedo from U-374 and sunk in the Staits of Gibraltar in position 35o59'N,
05o17'W. All 33 hands on board were lost with the ship. Sunk on 11 Dec 1941
by U-374 (Fischel).

Sunk on 12 January 1942 in the Mediterranean Sea south-west of Cape
Spartivento, in position 37.50N, 16.00E, by torpedoes from the British
submarine HMS Unbeaten. 42 dead and 1 survivor.

On 11 November 1942 HMS Unbeaten (Lt. Donald Eric Ogilvy Watson, DSC, RN)
was attacked and sunk in error by an RAF Wellington of No. 172 Squadron,
Coastal Command in the Bay of Biscay in position 46o50'N, 06o51'W. |
