attribute in political appointments. While previous administrations have
installed incompetent political hacks at various jobs (Heckuva job, Brownie)
, the Trump administration has done worse - they've appointed people who
actually want to dismantle the very organizations which justify government
involvement in public affairs; HHS, USDA, FDA, etc.
Alex Azar, the HHS secy is a prime example. He was a pharma lobbyist turned
Eli Lilly executive. His previous job was to change government regulations
to suit big pharma. It takes a special kind of corruption to install him as
the HHS head.
(Bush had appointed him as Deputy Secy and therefore, the blame lies with
him for beginning this trend.) |

smartest person in the room and surrounds himself with toadies, loyalists
and grifters whose primary function is to protect him and stroke his fragile
and childish but nonetheless oversized ego. I like Mayor Pete's response
when asked about how would handle the current crisis....he promised he would
never be the smartest person in the room when a crisis involves something
he knows nothing about. |
