The negotiations that are supposed to now begin would result in a "light"
version of TTIP, the Trans-Atlantic Trade and Investment Partnership, a free
trade agreement that Trump backed out of in 2017 with a lot of loud bluster

Of course, this is also typical Trump. Like a badly-behaved child, he knocks
down what others have built up only to then put the broken pieces back
together again and proudly announce that he did it all by himself. Juncker
brushed over this childish behavior like a good grandfather, ready to be
lenient on grandson when he acts up. That's fine, if it helps the European
economy and whatever is left of the transatlantic partnership.
