California’s landslide vote for Hillary was such a sure thing, not even
Nate Silver could miss it. On the local level, San Francisco County has
consistently gone for the Democratic presidential candidate by a wide margin
, along with liberal strongholds like Washington, D.C., the Bronx, and
Manhattan. But this year, the San Francisco metropolitan area (which
includes Oakland and Hayward) shot to the very top, supporting Hillary
Clinton by a whopping 76.7 percent, according to an analysis by Richard
Florida in CityLab. The San Jose metro area is in second place, with 72.9
percent support for Hill. The New York metro area comes in at a measly 10th
place—with 61.6 percent going for the winner of the popular vote—a total
likely depressed by New York’s more conservative suburbs. The Bay Area, you
could say, lost the hardest. High fives all around while we ugly-cry.
The metropolitan areas that went for Trump by the biggest percentage are
concentrated in the Midwest and the South: Birmingham, Jacksonville,
Cincinnati. (The above map, by the way, gives the tallest bars to the places
with the most votes overall, which explains why New York’s bar is
skyscraper-size despite the state's more meager showing for Hillary.) As
Richard Florida points out, “Hillary Clinton won the largest metros, but
Donald Trump carried more of them, as well as rural and micropolitan places.
” There’s more red on the map, but it’s not very tall. So if you’re one
of the 37,000 San Franciscans who supported Trump, CityLab’s map is an
argument for the electoral college. If you’re a spurned Hillary supporter,
it’s an indictment of the electoral college—and maybe also a call to move
to Kansas. | n********g 发帖数: 6504 | 2 弯曲是有那么一帮精神病热衷当扛精为博出位去当汉奸
