Why Donald Trump Should Not Be President
By THE EDITORIAL BOARD
Donald Trump is a man who dwells in bigotry, bluster and false promises. |
b********n 发帖数: 38600 | 2 Reasons I will never vote for Trump:
1. He is likely to lie us into War based upon false intelligence.
2. He has accepted over $150 million from special interests in speaking fees.
3. His campaign relies primarily on Special Interest donors and he is bought
and paid for by every special interest.
4. He is a War Hawk.
5. He supported bombing Libya into a stateless terrorist haven.
6. He is in bed with Goldman Sachs who paid him over $675,000 for 3 speeches
. Read the NYT's article in today's paper for proof.
7. His Foundation has taken tens of millions from Middle East dictators.
8. He opposed gay marriage until 2013.
9. He will likely set up a private email server and keep public records from
the public.
10. His administration will be full of neocons, neoliberals and financiers.
11. He is so pro-Israel he is likely to undo the Iran accord.
12. He is an out of touch multi-millionaire.
13. He was for free trade before he was against it.
Wait. What? That's Hillary.
We are screwed. |
t*****1 发帖数: 1459 | 3 Starting a series of trade wars is a recipe for recession, not for new
American jobs. Blowing a hole in the deficit by cutting taxes for the
wealthy will not secure Americans’ financial future, and alienating our
allies won’t protect our security. Mr. Trump has also said he will get rid
of the new national health insurance system that millions now depend on,
without saying how he would replace it. |

The Times has produced a very comprehensive list of logical arguments why
Donald Trump should be soundly defeated. Here is the illogical argument why
he might win.
He tells people what they want to hear.
That's it. Trump is a salesman. He is selling himself. He tells his
prospective customers what they want to hear. They are aggrieved. They are
hurting. They are afraid. He says he has the product that will cure them. He
has the magic potion that will cure all their ills. We used to call it
snake oil.
But the salesman does not warranty the product. He does not demonstrate that
it really works. "But believe me when I tell you, it will work. I guarantee
it." How many snake oil salesmen have used those same words over the
centuries?
Then they climb back into their wagon and ride off to the next town and do
it again, and again.
When you are president, there is no next town. There is no road to hide on.
We do not need a president that tells us what we want to hear. We need a
president that will tell us what we need to hear. We need a president that
wont ride off to the next town. We need a president that will dig in and
fight for us no matter how difficult the fight is. We need a president that
wont cut a deal out of convenience but maintain our democratic principles.
That person is Hilary Clinton.
Never has a pure snake oil salesman been elected to the most powerful office
the world. Don't buy the snake oil. Elect Hillary Clinton. |
t*****1 发帖数: 1459 | 5 This guy is literally the worst human being ever to run for office, it's
almost cartoonish how evil and stupid and horrible he is. How can anyone
still support this guy after Washington Post and New York Times totally
exposed him?
Trump is the first candidate that if I found out someone supported him, I
would try everything to distance myself personally from that person and
would view them as a lesser person. Nobody with any self respect or shred of
decency should vote Trump, we have to stop this monster. |

t*****1 发帖数: 1459 | 8 A few rhetorical hightlights:
“Otherwise, they could face the consequences of handing the White House to
a man far more consumed with himself than with the nation’s well-being.”
“Mr. Trump always does make clear where his heart lies — with the anti-
immigrant, nativist and racist signals that he scurrilously employed to
build his base.”
“Since his campaign began, NBC News has tabulated that Mr. Trump has made
117 distinct policy shifts on 20 major issues, including three contradictory
views on abortion in one eight-hour stretch.”
Never have I seen such a scathing condemnation of a candidate in the many
years I have been reading NYT. |
