Blinded by hubris, enthralled by the possibilities of unlimited power, the
neocons – and their liberal internationalist doppelgangers on the other
side of the political spectrum – didn’t see the nationalist backlash
coming.
I have many disagreements with Trump, but unlike his many enemies on the
left and especially on the right I understand that his nationalism contains
elements that are useful, instructive, and even admirable.
Yet demagoguery didn’t bother them when it was deployed by George W. Bush
as he marched us off to a disastrous war
Yes, Trump rose to prominence initially on the strength of his anti-
immigration and protectionist stance
No, the real motive behind the neoconservative holy war against Trump is
rooted in his foreign policy positions, which the neocons rightly view as a
direct threat to their internationalist project. | b********n 发帖数: 38600 | 2 I despise the Neocons. Neocons are all militaristic bully's, foreign-money
loving traitors and cowards. They were all too cowardly to put their own
lives or the lives of their children on the line by personally serving in
the military. They are all greedily taking bribes from foreign interests who
want American military commitments. And like all cowards they are bully's
at heart who want someone else to do the fighting and dying. Since the
Neocons want war so much they should all go volunteer to be mercenaries.
Just leave America and the American People out of it. |
