摘要：心脏病休克，被救护车送到最近的医院抢救回来，但是医院不在保险的network
里，尽管in network的医院就在三个block之外。结果本来$1500 max out of pocket，
变成了5万的账单。
医院、保险公司互相职责、互相踢球。
病人： "I was in a coma. I couldn't very well wake up and say, 'Hey, take me
to the next hospital,’” she said. “It was the closest hospital to where
I had my event, so naturally the ambulance took me there. No fault to them.
It's unfortunate that Meriter is in network and was only three blocks away
from St. Mary's.”
医院："When you're looking at saving a life, you're not looking at whether
or not you can save them money," said Cyn Gunnelson, manager for Managed
Care Contracting for the Wisconsin region of SSM Health Care. "I can only do
so much. The hospital can only do so much. And I think the best outcome is
the person walked away from the emergency room." |

that would charge $1500 just 3 blocks away.
The hospital can say this because someone will have to pay at the end, and
they don't care who.

最后啥事没有。估计这是低保。 |

医院也不管，只管看病，看完了再看是谁付钱。
正常情况下病人应当自主负责。但是休克了，没办法。
最后估计就是保险公司加一项保险：如果紧急情况下拉到不在网络的医院看病，也管
cover，但是这部分选项额外收premium.

Ha. That's where you are wrong. if it's the government run low income
insurance, it would have covered any of the hospitals in the State. It's
only when the patient have private insurance that you have this in-network,
out-of-network nonsense.

发帖数: 14844 | 9 原文已经说了，病人真没钱，所以保险公司吃了亏，跟医院砍价然后付了一部分。病人
也出了不少。所以我觉得保险公司肯定很快会堵漏洞出新条款让病人自负，哪怕是在无
意识状态下。
