The recent incident in Mong Kok where a mainland children peeing on the
street was filmed by a passerby raised our concerns about child molestation
in Hong Kong.
We learned that the police had responded the 999 call by the passerby who
took the photos. The children's parents were taken into custody afterwards.
But there was no news about the treatment the camera guy received.
Here are our concerns: what if that passerby was a child molester who likes
filming kids' private parts? Did the children's parents, who obviously were
too emotional to raise the issue to the police, made such argument against
the camera guy? These questions should be dealt with with care and answered
in the name of protecting our children from potential assaults. This, I
assume, is a duty that the DOJ should serve its people.
