KUALA LUMPUR—Malaysia’s national police chief Tuesday said one of the two
passengers who boarded missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 with stolen
passports is a 19-year-old Iranian who appeared to be attempting to migrate
to Germany to reunite with his mother.
Inspector-General Khalid Abu Bakar told a news conference that Pouria Nour
Mohammad Mehrdad’s mother contacted Malaysian authorities after news of the
flight’s disappearance Saturday just an hour after take off from Kuala
Lumpur en route to Beijing.
