Bend Not Break is a beautiful and gripping story about the vicissitudes of
history and one woman's extraordinary courage moving through it. It is
absolutely telling that the Chinese government continues to suppress and
attempt to tarnish a truthteller like Ping Fu as seen in the reader comments
on the book. Bend Not Break is obviously a very current story about China. | c**********u 发帖数: 7276 | 2 这个更搞笑,

I have to confess that I have not read the whole book; I have only read
some excerpts. I do not know the author and have never met her.
I write this review because I find that many (not all) of the
1-star critics are 'dirty'. Firstly, many of them were posted
on the same day. Secondly, if you click on their 'other reviews'
links, you'll find that they have never written any other reviews before.
The reviews may be posted by a small number of people, using different
email accounts to defame the author; they may be even paid by government
officials to do so. (Having said that I have to agree that a couple of
the 1-star critics are very good even though I disagree with them.)
While I cannot verify whether all the facts described in the book are true,
there are a few things that I know that they are true and one can easily
verify.
1) She is the CEO of a high-tech company utilizing state of the art
technologies.
2) The author was selected by Inc. Magazine as the entrepreneur of the year
in 2005. She was selected not because she has a good story about her life
but because she runs her high-tech company successfully.
3) She successfully obtained quite a lot of NSF grants on related
technologies;
NSF grants are very difficult to get. You cannot get an NSF grant by lying;
you have to know the technology inside out.
4) Her husband is indeed a top scientist in his field. | o****y 发帖数: 26355 | 3 This comments also missed the point.
