标 题: 在公司遇到有同事如此议论康州枪手和我的回应。

我在网上总是侃侃而谈，从来没有向大家请教过什么事情该怎么做。但是今天我想向诸
位讨教一下。
事情是这样的：上周五下午，康州枪杀案发生后，我们组里开会的时候一个老印提起这
个事情，这个时候一个法国来的中东人，说了这么一句“笑话”：“那个家伙（指那个
枪手）一定是中国菜吃多了 (the guy must have had too much Chinese food)", 这
个时候与会的烙印还跟着笑。 我当时就说: come on, this is not funny,
especially given this tragedy...如果当时那个人马上道歉也就罢了，但是他没有，
而是马上改口说其他事情了，而我当时则没有及时反应过来要求他收回那句话。
会结束之后，我越想这个事越觉得恶心。这个法国来的中东人平时就是满嘴profanity,
虽说确有乱说话的习惯使然，但是在我指出其言论不妥之后，毫无表示，特别是烙印
的反应更是让我非常恶心。我于是决定给他写封email指出其言论不妥。

I feel it important and serious enough for me to give you my feedback on
some of your comments made in our meeting this afternoon and witnessed by
the team. As you know there was a tragedy today in Connecticut that one
gunman killed many innocent kids in a school. That was some very sad news
which is why I feel that your joking comments of "The guy (killer) must have
had too much Chinese food" extremely inappropriate and offensive. Not only
it is offensive to Chinese people which I happen to be one it also lacks
the basic sense of decency given such a tragedy. I am not sure if it is your
looking down on Chinese people and culture or your poor choice of words
either way I find it very offensive.
写完之后，我又将此email forward给了我们的老板，一个烙印。
那个当事人在周五当晚一连回信三封，百般辩解，也做了道歉。至少没有否认这么说。
但是让我不爽的事情是今天周一。本来指望老板能有个回信什么的说那个人不对。结果
不但没有收到任何回信，而且下班前我遇到老板问及此事，老板的回应居然是：你为什
么不直接和他谈谈(talk directly)， 言下之意，有必要写email，再来烦我吗？
我给大家的问题： 是我多事了吗？如果你遇到这个事情，该怎么做？

后记：
其实我今晚一整晚的念头，就是把这个事情捅到人事部ＨＲ，但是鉴于老板的态度，估
计最后一定会backfire...这个时候不论我平时多么愤青豪言壮语，居然就真是犹豫了
。我还没有最终决定，但是至少希望告诉大家，老印天下的滋味。大家自勉吧。 |
