David Barboza Answers Reader Questions on Reporting in China
By DAVID BARBOZA | g**1 发帖数: 10330 | 2 大卫同学怕了吗?
My goal in undertaking this story was to determine whether the relatives of
the prime minister had large stakes in Chinese companies, and to figure out
how much wealth they had accumulated. If there were clues as to how these
relatives made their fortunes, that would obviously tell us something about
how things work in China for the relatives of senior leaders.
I didn’t make allegations, I described my findings: the relatives of the
prime minister have controlled a fortune that has had a value of at least $2
.7 billion over the last decade, according to the public records I reviewed. | m*****t
Thank you for setting the finest example of investigative journalism. While
China has witnessed fantastic economic growth in the past decade, ordinary
Chinese people seem to get a much smaller share of the economic miracle. In
2011, around 330 million rural residents earned less than 100 U.S. dollars
per month, and around 345 million urban residents earned below 200 dollars.
By contrast, a small bunch of wealthy people, often connected to or
belonging to families of senior officials, are 'rumored' to have accumulated
astonishing wealth from the waves of privatization of state-owned
enterprises. Your report just offered rare and solid evidence of such
rampant corruption and blatant cronyism at the highest level of government
hierarchy.
As we probably know, the 18th National Congress is going to set the new path
for China in the next decade. Rumors circulate widely that China is likely
to privatize more state-owned enterprises in the name of economic liberalism
. However, the case of Wen's family clearly sends a warning that such agenda
of privatization could be exploited, if the government itself is corrupted.
As Nobel laureate Joseph Stiglitz warned in his book Globalization and its
Discontents, "If a government is corrupt, there is little evidence that
privatization will solve the problem". | G**L 发帖数: 22804 | 5 毛轮也舔洋人了,世界是不是已经不能阻止中国人信洋人了,元芳,你怎么看

1,提问人基本觉得报道属实,温家贪污是共识。大部分人只是怀疑报道的时机和动机。
2,温家商业行为在中共高层中最突出,所以该记者选择了温家。
