Living in China, I am sometimes impressed with the chinese handling of crime
. For example, if you are caught stealing or other low profile crime, Police
will arrest you and IMMEDIATELY (@ the same day) send you over to a jail
for 2-6 weeks, no trial, no nothing, Police decides.
Of course this is totally against our "democratic" understanding of justice,
but it definately works, making Chinese cities some of the safest in the
