“New England’s weather is like hell!” You murmured, lying in bed with
eyes half open.
I turned around, leaned closer and rested my chin on your arm. I looked
closer into your eyes and said: “ Honey, even it is hell, you are still
going to love me and kiss me, aren’t you?” My expression was dead serious.
You burst into an uncontrollable laugh and touched the tip of my nose with
your index finger.
“ I will always love you and always begin each day with a kiss with you.
Vicky, I love you and God knows how much I love you. You are my baby. No
matter how time changes the way you look. I will always love you,” You said
that to me dead seriously. My heart was content. You knew I need that heavy
dose of love to jump start each day and to make it through.
You pulled me closer and sealed my lips with a tender French kiss. Though
you have kissed me so many times in last two yeas, my heart still beat like
butterflies and my toes still tingled.
You slapped my little butt tocks to remind me that today was pretty
important. The alarm clock finally screamed. I jumped off the bed, and made
coffee and lean pockets for us.
Thirty minutes later, you dropped me off at the symposium. I was a little
bit hesitated about the competition; I have struggled million times to give
it up. You delivered the comfort and assurance to me just by staring into my
eyes. Finally, I waved at you and went inside.
“Oh, my dearest Matt! How could I live without you? Without you close by my
side and be my private cheerleader boy!” I thought that in my mind and
smiled.
The day went fleetingly fast. I updated you multiple times via text messages
. I could sense the excitement and the pride you had for me. By end of the
day, the president announced the award winner.
“HOLY SHIT!” I said to myself, "The president was calling my name!!!! "
“ Vicky L, the winner of president award.” I couldn’t recall the rest of
the day; I was living in a dream. So many people came over to congratulate
me, but the only thing I wanted to do was to jump into your arms and tell
you this news.
You came to pick me up. I pretended that I lost the competition. You tried
to comfort me first, then you realized that words could only do more damage.
Instead, you hugged me tightly more than ever. I kissed your ear and said
to you, “ Matt, I won. Just as what you have told me. I won! Matt, thank
you!”
I saw tears in your beautiful eyes. They were sparkling. |
