English.
My father has头晕 for more than 2 years after the accident when his head was
seriously injured. Are there any ways to relieve /get rid of it?
History:
In 2009, my father had an accident: something suddenly and heavily knocked
him down on the floor, resulting in a few areas to bleed inside his head (
one of them was in the center of his head by 10mmx10mm); his life was in
danger since he was sent to ER about an hour later. The good thing was that
his head stopped bleeding later. So doctors decided to let himself absorb
the blood without any surgery. When my father was moved out of EU, he
complained头晕 all the time, even lying on bed. Then the doctor implanted a
shunt into his head. It seemed that the shunt helped him a lot at that time.
But头晕never goes away. (Thanks God, my father is able to walk and talk
again although not as good as before). Couple of times of head scan were
taken last year, indicating stable inside, no more bleeding.
Now:
Now he still has to lie on the bed most of time (except eating, walking
about 30 minutes a day when weather allows, and using restroom). When he is
standing, he feels头晕 (even will fall down when he is tired), but lying on
bed makes him feel much better. His balance is not good. When he is walking,
he has to walk very fast since he will easily fall if slowing down.
Questions:
What are the possible reasons for his头晕?
Is there anything he can do or we can help to relieve that?
Will头晕be with him for the rest of his life? He is just 65.
Is the fluid pressure in his head the issue? If yes, should the value of the
shunt be adjusted? The doctor told us before that trying not to re-adjust
the value unless necessary. My father will have to adjust himself after each
change and the whole process of re-adjustment might be very painful. But
how can we figure out when it is the time to re-adjust it or not, by
observing the fluid in the head? If his head is shrinking, does that mean
the value should be re-adjusted?
Is anyone aware of any FAMOUS DOCTORS AND HOSPITALS IN BEIJING in this area?
My father is expecting that some Chinese medicine might help. Will Chinese
medicine really work on头晕? If yes, what are they?
My father was such a sunshine before. Right now he has to struggle with 头晕
every moment every day. I really hope there are some ways/things that will
make his life a little easier and happier!
Any comments and opinions will be highly appreciated!!!
| a*******9 发帖数: 4 | 3 Thanks, JimmyLA!
Shunt is one of the possible reasons.
Does anyone know any 权威的脑外科医生 in Beijing?
