I******r 发帖数: 100 | 1 My baby girl is 10 months old and recently, she coughs a lot yesterday and
most dr's offices are closed today. and we found one Dr, the Dr said today
that she got the bronchitis, but my baby didn't have fever, so the dr didn't
gave any medicine. I begged her to gave some antibiotics, now my baby girl
is having a fever 100F, should I send her to the emergency room or just gave
her some Mortion. Please help, thanks. | g*****j 发帖数: 1211 | 2 By definition, >100.4F (38C) is considered fever here. So 100F isn't a
fever yet.
You can probably wait and observe at this point. Baby Tylenol is available
over the counter, and you can give your baby every 4 hours as needed. Pay
attention to the dosage instruction because baby dosage is weight dependent.
You should go to the emergency room if in 24 hours the temperature cannot
be controlled by Tylenol, or she is having difficulty breathing or she
refuses fluid (milk or water) or your gut | n******s 发帖数: 210 | 3 1. antibiotic works against bacteria, but not viruses,
2. side effect is a big concern.
3. Most of URI including bronchitis are caused by viruses,
4. for the temperature, if higher than 38.5 or 39, give your baby some
tylenol or physical temp dropping. but alcohol is not recommended.
5. if seizure, go to ER asap. but don't scare, most likely it is febrile
seizure, no severe sequeli. | n******s 发帖数: 210 | 4 there are several ways to measure the temperature.(oral, axillary, anal)
different criteria of fever at different sites. | I******r 发帖数: 100 | 5 Thanks a lot. I really appreciated, I didn't bring my baby to ER, and gave
her some Mortion, she is a little bit under control now. but still cough a
lot. |
