时感到左乳偶有刺痛感，用手触摸可感觉一硬块，而且不怎么移动，便立刻去医院看，
很快被确诊为乳腺癌。两天后进行了手术，切除了肿瘤并摘除了11个淋巴，术后经病理
诊断，结果如下：
左侧乳腺浸润性导管癌。3x3 cm2癌细胞异型明显，呈线状、小团状分布。乳头未见癌
累及，腋窝摘除淋巴11枚未见癌转移。
手术后母亲进行了6次化疗，随后每3个月复查一次。
母亲患病手术时我还在美国，他们没有让我知道。后来妹妹告诉了我，我最后下定决心
回国工作，子欲养而亲不待是人生最大的悲哀！一切在父母的健康面前都是过眼云烟。
母亲术后至今已3年，情况一直良好。可08年夏天，父亲又因腰椎间盘突出进行了手术
，随后11月再次复发，至今仍卧床不起。这半年来，母亲端茶倒水，求医问药，一个病
人照顾另一个病人。
牛年的春节，母亲咳嗽加重（母亲有咳嗽的老毛病，后来又因化疗引发了间质性肺炎）
，由以前的干咳转为带痰，且偶有血丝。年初二我陪母亲去看病，母亲第一次告诉了我

for cancer reaching lymph nodes, the prognosis is beyond our control. some
ppl can survive 20 or 30 yrs without recurrence, some ppl are not so lucky.
what you can do is routine exam. ultrasound of organs, x ray of chest, liver
function test, renal function test, bone scan, ct of brain (if headache).
try not to use estrogen containing stuff, don't eat too much fat, red meat.

your mom has early stage invasive cancer, with axillary nodes negative, but
the size greater than 2cm, it's probably stage II, her age and menopause
state would help predict her prognosis,
things you need to look into is the cancer removed from surgery, if it is
hormone receptor(estrogen and progesterone) positive or negative; if it's
HER2 positive or negative(which she might benefit by taking herceptin); and
she is also at increased risk for breast cancer on her contralateral side(

it is estrogen receptor negative, which means that the tumor's growth is not
on estrogen, which is well established to be one of the most important
factors for development and growth of breast cancer. for er + tumor,
tamoxifen, an estrogen antagonist can be used.

only thing we know is that we can use estrogen receptor antagonist to treat
ER + cancer while we use chemotherapy to treat er - tumor.

in general, PR/ER negative means the tumor is less likely to respond to
hormone therapy(such as tamoxifen), whether this has any prognostic means is
under debate, for early stage breast cancer PR/ER negativity suggests of
less risk for recurrence, but over time the advantage decreases,
meanwhile, p53 and Her overexpression often means poor prognosis and more
likely hood to metastasize to liver and brain, that often has shorter
survival comparing to PR/ER positive tumors that like to go to soft
