Get the bone marrow slides and find a licensed hematopathologist for
consultation. Morphologically, MDS is not an easy diagnosis for anyone, even
an experienced hematopathologist, not to mention that you want the
diagnosis to help treatment protocol.
You want to prepare for a big bill on hematopathology consultation in the US

lab report does have some black and white picture. It probably wasn't
enough. How big do you think the bill will be? I am thinking that it doesn
't really matter as long as I can find an expert in the field. After all I
can't be at the bedside, paying for the medicine and the consultation is
what I can do to help. I still need the lab report to be translated. Here

MDS is a very complicated disease, even experts in WHO could not reach a
consensus on the classification. Go to talk with a hematologist/oncologist
first before you borrow bone marrow smear from China. If you want a good
guideline for therapy, bone marrow smear may not be enough. Unfortunately,
neither MDS nor transformed acute leukemia has good response to even most
advanced therapy.

translation. I want to let you know that my father passed away last
Thursday. After having fever for two weeks or so, he had pneumonia, and he
heart stopped. He was put on a respirator for over a week. In the mean
time, he had kidney failure and had to be put on dialysis. When the doctor
was going to cut put tube in his throat, they found that his blood
congealing factor and PLT were both too low for operation. In |

Very sorry to hear the sad ending. Please accept my deep condolence and
prayer for your family. People began to stop posting their medical queries
