I went to see my primary care physician, who is a RN, last Thursday for
frequent urination. She sent out my urine sample for tests and prescribed me
"sulfamethoxaxole- trimethoprim"for 3 days (one pill every 12 hours)
according to my symptoms.
I took all the pills but the symptoms remain.
Tuesday the nurse called, saying tests show that I have a severe type of
infection and prescribed me "CIPROFLOXACIN HCL 500 MG TAB", again one every
12 hours for 3 days. Please note I had already finished sulfamethoxaxole-
trimethoprim. when I started CIPROFLOXACIN HCL. There is a one day gap.
I have taken CIPROFLOXACIN for four times but my symptoms remain.Should I
ask her to refill the prescription?
My main symptoms are frequent urination (every hour), no pain or burning
when urinating, but always have this feeling to go. The feeling is not from
my bladder, it is more from my vagina. I also have mild/moderate lower back
pain and pelvic bone pain.
Thanks a lot. | A*******s 发帖数: 9638 | 2 What is the result of urine culture?

Called the clinic multiple times since yesterday early afternoon.Always was
told that the nurse would call me back but haven't heard from them.So I don'
t have the culture results. | l*****n 发帖数: 81 | 4 Cipro is a very good medicine for outpatient UTI and even Pyelonephritis.
From what you said, you may need to rule out vaginitis which occasionally
causes frequent urination, mimicking cystitis. You may consider see your OB
if you failed cipro. |
