Opening Summary:
The LDCSEE is looking for students (both in graduate and undergraduate
levels) in the broader area of biomedical engineering related biomedical
microdevices. The students will be involved in projects, where the main goal
will be to develop microfluidic devices (bioreactors, tissue chips and
biosensors) to control cell behavior and tissue functions,understand the
impacts of various agents on cells, and provide novel platforms for
toxicology screening and early diagnosis.
Preferred Background
Microfabrication
Microfluidics
Experience with cell culturing will be considered as an advantage
Other Requirements
The student should have enthusiasm towards laboratory research work and hand
on experiments. We seek the students from the following disciplines:
Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering,
Chemical Engineering, or closely related areas. Women students and students
from underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.
