个人意见，仅供申请内科的同学参考。特别是老CMG。
1.没有9月1号递交完整的材料是很大的硬伤。
2.PS，LOR都很关键，PS要在有真情实感的基础上强调你的最强的闪光点。LOR不能有任何负面的评价，尤其是
沟通/语言能力。
3.所有材料，尤其是 CV, 不能有任何的Typo和语法错误。
4.申请策略和自我定位，一定要大撒网，尤其是东北岸。纽约绝对是CMG的大本营。
5.组织/参加match小组，互相鼓励，互通信息，互相帮助。
6.Pass step 3
7.Fulltime inpatient subinternship (at least one month).
8.Networking,ask for help.
9，Volunteer。通过volunteer来增加networking的机会，给组织者帮忙，打下手，除了提
供让别人了解你，展示你的个人素质和办事能力的机会，还可以近距离观察，学习这些leaders 的待人接物，工作
效率和思维习惯。ob时可以volunteer你的
research skill如果attending，resident当时需要的话。acap，老刀会和medi组织活
动等等更是需要大家的volunteer。

experience would make me a better physician. Here is my point: with all my
research, I know how to critically evaluate publications and apply the best
ones in my practice. I would be a physician that is committed to evidence-

make research an advantage in your application.

Agree. Both research and medicine need pay-attention-to-details and critical
thinking. When my PD interviewed me, he asked me about my research and then
said that "all your efforts will pay off". Mine is an IM program.Confidence
is always important.Doing good research means you are smart and it does not

好好结合自己的经历，讲几个小故事说明你和别的申请人相比最大的优点。重点是通过

低年级的或要申请的，最好去volunteer， 在门口帮忙，混个脸熟，否则和谁都搭不上

Applied to Internal medicine, Anesthesiology, and Neurology with

You have strong background. I guess you submitted your CAF too late,
especially for IM. Also make sure all your LORs are strong.
If you keep working hard, you should have more chances in next match.

Fairly strong package. I would say the only drawback is that you started too
late. Most IVs esp. in IM were sent out before November, which means your
CAF probably went directly to the recycle bins last year.
Just continue working on OB or whatever clinic experience you could get, and
pass step3 ASAP if you need H1B. Submit all stuff on Sep 1st 8 am EST this
year, you will nail the match.

For Anesthesiology and Neurology, since you don't have clinical background
in those two fields, if you really want to apply them try to get some OB/

1. IM, early submission
2. Anesthesiology,--- need strong connection nowadays: either through
research or mentorship. Try develop/spin your current research to more sth
hot in Anesthesiology or simply collaborate with those who work on these
area in the lab
3. Neurology, --- the same thing, do human neurological disease related
research, focus on university based
PDs, state your projects and how it helps you fulfill your career goal (IN
ADDITION to your PS, send through emails; it helps to find topics to
exchange information and thought).
Keep peddling and next year you will have a big harvest.

绿卡。是你最明显的弱点。当然晚交也会有点影响。尽量把pathology作为backup plan。
你现在在大学还是医院实验室？尽量到医院实验室做。
尽快递交eb1 a/b，你有绿卡明年至少有10 iv。没有绿卡明年情况更差。明年会有更多
医院不sponsor h1b. 因为明年没有prematch，造成医院给你办h1b 的时间只有2-3月
，这样的时间压力会造成更多医院不愿意sponsor h1b.
所以赶紧递eb1，concurrent 140/485. 你半年就能收到移民局的welcome email 。其
他的都是不关痛痒的小问题。相信你美国拿的学位，语言，面试都不会是什么大问题。

现在一般us citizen match 50%, non citizen 40%[ 估计一半LPR, 一半需要visa],
所以你需要visa match几率大概 30%
老中还要枪h1b, 概率不知道有没有10%.所以没有绿卡其实不容易的，你需要老板帮忙
的，靠你自己2，3 iv。
老中除非万不得已，最好不要考虑j1。以后你麻烦是多着呢，哪怕h1b,你都有很多头痛
的事情。
