刚刚弄完了电子上传推荐信的步骤，觉得可以和大家分享一下，希望会有帮助！
1，登陆 ECFMG
2, 进入 OASIS
3，左手最下一行，点击 ERAS® Support Services
4，左手倒数第3行， 点击 Request a Letter of Recommendation
5，网页最下面check "I have read and accept the above disclosures." 然后点“
Continue”.
6. 点击 “New LOR Request”,填写推荐人信息（包括email）,点“submit”.

此时，一封自动生成的邮件会带着你的信息，出现在推荐人的邮箱。我用我先生作为我
的推荐人，试验了一下。（不推荐模仿，否则你的页面会出现没有推荐信的推荐人，很
糟糕。我牺牲一下自己的页面，是为了能够把详细信息贴给大家，大家心里就会对整个
流程有个底）
下面我把我先生（推荐人）收到的邮件贴出来，其中我的个人信息隐藏掉用******代替
。 我建议把这篇universal email打印出来，自己highlight重点步骤，face to face
交给真正推荐人说：你会收到（已经收到）这样一封信，具体步骤请看这里highlight.
花2-3分钟讲解一下，你的推荐人会因为你的consideration觉得这是个painless的过程
，从而加些印象分。然后：YOU ARE ALL SET!
应邀update: 几天后，当你收到邮件说推荐人已经上传了推荐信（已在ecfmg中出现）后，如果你此时还没有在ERAS里面finalize，请赶紧过去输入密码finalize一下。如果是上午做的，下午6点你的信就应该在programs里面备选啦。如果是下午，那么第2天下午6点也就应该出现了。
此时，推荐信的工程正式完工，可以去喝茶逛街小小表扬下自己啦。

Request from *** ***(AAMC #) for a Letter of Recommendation
Dear **** *****,
This request was sent by *** ***, (AAMC #). The applicant has requested that
you upload a letter of recommendation in support of his/her residency
application using the ECFMG Letter Writer Portal (LWP). LWP allows you to
submit a PDF version of your letter electronically to ECFMG. The applicant
requests that you include the following information in the letter of
recommendation:
Applicant Name: *** ***
AAMC ID Number: ???????
Specialty to which the applicant is applying: all specialties (or your
choice)
The applicant waives his/her right to view the content of the letter under
the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
Comments for your review (as submitted by the applicant):
DOCUMENT REQUIREMENTS
The letter must be an original letter of recommendation, written on
institutional letterhead and signed by you. Electronic signatures will be
accepted. For additional information, refer to the Original Document Policy,
available on the ERAS Support Services section of the ECFMG website at www.
ecfmg.org/eras.
Address the letter as "Dear Program Director" or "To Whom It May Concern".
Do not address the letter to individual program directors. ERAS Support
Services at ECFMG cannot process documents with individual salutations.
The document must be in Portable Document Format (PDF).
The file size may not exceed 500,000 bytes (500 KB).
Since this letter is being submitted electronically, please do not include
the Document Submission Form (DSF) or the Request for Letter of
Recommendation/Coversheet.
TO UPLOAD THE LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION
Click on your upload link: https://lwp.ecfmg.org/landingpage.aspxrequestcode

In LWP, please read and accept the disclosures to continue.
You will then be able to view your contact information, as provided by the
applicant. Please make corrections, if required.
Click Save and the upload page will appear.
Review the instructions for upload and verify the following at the top of
the upload page before uploading the letter:
o Applicant's name and AAMC ID number
o Specialty the applicant has indicated
o Whether or not the applicant has waived his/her right to view the
letter of recommendation.
To upload, click on the Browse button and select the file from your computer.
Click Upload.
If the file is accepted, you will see a confirmation page and a confirmation
e-mail will be sent to your e-mail address. The applicant will then be able
to track that the letter has been submitted to ECFMG.

星期。
另外一封电子推荐信上传后给退了回来， 原因或是没有用official letterhead, 或是
没有签字。

Dear Dr. XYZ,
I am writing to inform you of an issue with the letter of recommendation you
uploaded through the LWP on behalf of ABC.
The letter is not signed or on any type of letterhead. We require that all
LoRs uploaded through the LWP are signed and on letterhead in order to be
processed. The document can either be electronically signed, or it can be
printed and manually signed and then scanned in as a PDF. Please upload a
new, signed letter of recommendation on your letterhead for this applicant
as we cannot process the current document.
Here is one way you can electronically sign a word document:
1. Open the letter of recommendation.
2. Click on the “Insert” tab
3. Click on “Shapes”
4. Choose the “Scribble” shape (as you see highlighted below)
5. Use your mouse to sign the appropriate area on the letter of
recommendation and save it as a PDF.
You can use the link in the original request email to upload the LoR again.
Please review the document requirements as stated in that request email. If
you no longer have that request email, your applicant will need to resend
the request to you through the OASIS system.

首先谢谢您的详细解释。我用我的scanner试了下，要存小于500K的PDF,扫描是必须用
最小的分辨率(100dpi), 而且要选white&black document.这样文件的清晰度分辨率不
是很理想。请问这个500K的限制是必须的吗？有没有办法在不牺牲分辨率的情况下减小
PDF的size？希望各位大拿赐教,谢谢！

谢谢大家的经验。 今天我实验性的扫描了一下， jeg 转pdf. optimize pdf 最后pdf的size 是398
。 看起来字体从圆润的楷体变成了瘦金。 很清楚但一看就是fax或扫描的质量。
后来发现直接Acrobate 》Reduced file size 就行了。 质量还可以。 两页大概490KB.
也可以直接扫描200dpi彩色pdf， 也是480KB两页。

国内的好像不用翻墙。另外，发现如果转PDF,最好用Adobe acrobat,这个可以调整PDF
的分辨率，从而调整转化成PDF之后的文件的大小。这个别人说过了，我试了一下，把
分辨率调整到600，就可以把700KB的jpg转化成100kb左右的jpg，而且看上去还挺清楚
